Heat Treat of Rick Haney's Vertabrae DuraTech 20CV blade 05/14/2009.
1. Wrap air tight in high temp stainless foil packet
2. Preheat blade to 1450F and equalize ~10min
3. Rapidly bring to bring from preheat temp to 2100F
4. Soak at 2100F for 30 minutes
5. Remove from oven and immediately plate quench down to 150F
6. Remove from SS foil packet
7. Once at ~125F, put in bath of dry ice and acetone (-100F) for 2 hours
8. Remove from cryo bath and warm to room temp
9. Temper in controlled oven twice for two hours each time @ 400F

Blade during a 30 minute soak at 2100F.

Ready to come out of oven. Look at that blade glow inside of the SS packet!

Quick check of tempurature shows -98F. Cool... Kept here for 2 hours.

First of two temper cycles at 400F for 2 hours each cycle.
